Ben Thanh - Suoi Tien Metro in Ho Chi Minh city can be opened for visit this year 

Vice Chairman of Ho Chi Minh People’s Committee Vo Van Hoan said the citizens would be invited to visit Ben Thanh - Suoi Tien Metro once competed. 


So much work is pending at the package CP1A while the Ho Chi Minh’s Management Authority for Urban Railways (MAUR) promises to complete 85% of the workload in 2020. 


On the morning of 05 February, MARU launched an event to speed up the construction schedule of Ben Thanh - Suoi Tien Metro in 2020. 


MAUR’s Director Bui Xuan Cuong said that over 70% of workload had been obtained after more than 35 million safe working hours. MAUR and Contractors planned to complete 85% of the work in 2020 and put the metro into operation by the end of 2021. 


Cuong said that after HCM People’s Committee agreed with the modification of the total investment fund of Ben Thanh - Suoi Tien Metro project, the financial difficulty was basically settled. Depot contractor Long Binh of District no.9 was working during Tet Holiday. All contractors completed to mobilize workers and equipment to start the work right after the occasion. 


Hoan required the Project Management Unit and Contractors to start the work that instance. MAUR is supposed to develop a detailed schedule upon which the Consultant and Contractors must commit to complete their work.


Every segment of the whole route is determined to be completed in 2020. The engine and carriages will be installed and put into operation for trial in June. Operators are being trained in the city and sent to Japan for training courses before the job assignment. 


“We will open the metro for citizens to come to visit the completed area so that they can understand our difficulties during the construction”, said Hoan.
